Young violin talent plays concert at Uspensky Music School

Up-and-coming violin star Nilufar Muhiddinova played an exciting concert at Uspensky Music School on January 21, demonstrating brilliant skill and dedication and drawing waves of applause and cheers from the audience, which included students and instructors from music schools as well as classical music fans.

The program of the solo concert included works by classical composers such as Antonio Vivaldi, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Reinhold Gliere, Fritz Kreisler, Niccolo Paganini, Manuel Ponce, Kroll, and N. Zakirov. Nilufar played many of the pieces for the first time at the concert and did exceptionally well. The concert was organized by the Fund Forum, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Education of Uzbekistan and Uspensky Music School.

A first-year student at Uspensky Music School, Nilufar Muhiddinova has won prizes at a series of national and international competitions in Belarus, France, Israel, Russia and Ukraine. She has also emerged as a winner at Yangi avlod (New generation) Children’s Art Festival and was awarded a grant by the Fund Forum as part of the Youth Symphonic Orchestra. She has appeared at concerts with the National Symphonic Orchestra of Uzbekistan, Moscow Symphonic Orchestra, Rishon LeZion and Raanan Symphonic Orchestras (Israel) and national chamber orchestras. With support from the Fund Forum, Nilufar along with other Uzbek musicians participated in a concert commemorating the 2200th anniversary of Tashkent at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris in 2009.

Mark Zayko, professor emeritus of the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan:

- “I can say that Nilufar is one of my best students. In order to become a true musician, besides a talent one should be prepared for a path he or she needs to go through to achieve mastery through spending hours and hours of hard work and honing your skills to the point of professionalism and showing commitment to your goals. I can say this girl has all it takes to achieve her goals as well as a creative potential. This means that through hard work and patience Nilufar will succeed in becoming one of the brightest stars in our country in the future!”

Madina Sadykova, an instructor at Music and Art School No.28 in Tashkent:

- “I’ve heard a lot about Nilufar. She has showcased her talent at several concerts with famous Uzbek and international music groups. I was happy when I heard she was going to perform at a concert and I decided to attend it and to bring my students along.”

Dildora Jamalova, Director of Uspensky Music School:

- “This kind of concerts is a great opportunity to demonstrate to the public our young talents’ skills and potential. The Fund Forum is one of the organizers of the concert and it supports talented children’s efforts to improve their skills and accomplish their goals. Competitions such as Yangi avlod and Kelajak ovozi help discover amazing talents in many parts of our country. Many of these talented children now attend our school. Thanks to the Fund, many young musicians have the opportunity to attend wonderful concerts. Last year, for example, a group of students from our school attended concerts by Ennio Morricone, Igor Krutoy and Vladimir Spivakov in Tashkent. Attending concerts played by famous musicians encourages and inspires them to continue to work hard, trust in themselves and grow.”

Oleg Vasilevsky, a first-year student at Uspensky Music School:

- “Presenting a concert of this kind requires lengthy and thorough preparations. I know that Nilufar contributed a bit of her soul to this concert. I particularly enjoyed the performance of the three waltz pieces – Love’s Joy, Love’s Sorrow and Lovely Rosemary – by Fritz Kreisler. I was so moved that at one point I wanted to stand up, get my violin and start playing in accompaniment of the concert.”
