Young music virtuosos perform at Uspensky Music School

On May 20, the Youth Symphonic Orchestra of Uspensky Music School in Tashkent gave a concert dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence. The orchestra was conducted by young talents – the winners of international contests Ivan Denisenko and Nilufar Muhiddinova. The masterful performance by the young musicians was met with uproarious applause from the audience which included the musicians' parents, relatives, friends, teachers as well as guests and journalists.

The concert program included works by local and international composers: O. Abdullayeva, H. Rakhimov, Bizet, Massenet, Legrand, Paganini, Brahms, Monti, Hachaturyan and Strauss.

For the first time the concert served as an intersection for two types of music: national and symphonic.The traditional performance on a kashgar rubab was presented by Numon Nazrullayev, a student at Glière Music School. The solo performers of classical music included winners of international and national contests, Nodira Dadamukhamedova (piano) and Dinora Shokhiddinova (violin), as well as the youngest participants of the concert, Iskander Mamadaliyev and Ilkhom Mukhiddinov.

The concert was organized by the Fund Forum, the Ministry of National Education of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of Uzbekistan.

The Youth Symphonic Orchestra of Uspensky Music School was set up over 60 years ago. With members aged between 8 and 16, it is the youngest orchestra in the history of music. The Orchestra was first presented to the broad public by the Fund Forum in May 2005 when the orchestra gave a debut concert with young conductors at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan. With the Fund Forum’s support, the orchestra and its solo performers have participated in international competitions, festivals and concerts. In 2007, the orchestra performed in Moscow, with prominent Russian conductor Vladimir Spivakov at the helm. Since 2008, the team has been headed by Batir Rasulov. The Youth Symphonic Orchestra is also an active supporter of charitable activities. More specifically, it gives charitable concerts for children from orphanages under “Children to Children” Campaign. The proceeds go toward supporting hospitalized children suffering from leukemia, cerebral palsy and other diseases.
