Young artist Dilshod Eshmatov’s art on display

The Center of National Arts welcomes the public to attend the solo exhibition of young Uzbek artist Dilshod Eshmatov, a member of IJOD Association of Artists, Art Historians and Craftsmen and a winner of “Navqiron O’zbekiston” (Young Uzbekistan) Festival of Traditional and Contemporary Arts. On display are 90 works by the artist. Organized by the Fund Forum and IJOD Association, the exhibition will run through July 15.

The opening ceremony for the art show on June 15 was attended by prominent art professionals, teachers and the artist’s colleagues and friends. “Dilshod Eshmatov has a big heart and a pure soul, and you can see that if you look at his pictures,” said artist Hakim Mirzaakhmedov, speaking at the opening ceremony. “They are full of light and love. He works in all genres of fine art. Not every artist is able to reflect the character and spiritual state of people in their works. But Dilshod does that on a very professional level.”

Eshmatov’s creations reflect a harmony of oriental miniature painting. Soft and warm tones dominate in his creations, which also contain rich cold hues. The artist’s pieces are filled with love for his motherland, admiration for scenery, warmth and light. His creativity has been described as multifaceted and encompasses the Uzbek nation’s original culture. Eshmatov’s creations feature images from his immediate everyday surroundings as well as Uzbek culture and traditions. Of special note is his attention to women in his works.

Color and light are the main mediums the artist relies on in his creative endeavors. Depending on the emotional fabric of a particular picture, light and color may burst into all the colors of a rainbow. The emotional expressiveness and clear contours lend his works a philosophical edge while his lyrical and poetic creations mirror oriental wisdom.

Dishod Eshmatov, artist:

“Through my creations I try to tell people how beautiful my country is, how beautiful the scenery here is. I pay a lot of attention to Uzbek people’s traditions. I had many teachers and that’s why in my works you can spot a bit of Akmal Nur, Hakim Mirzaakhmedov, and other artists. I also honor the creations by masters such as Abdullayev, Kuzoboyev, Rakhmetov and Aminov. I want to say a big thank you to everyone who has come here today and those who support young artists’ work, the Fund Forum, IJOD Association and the Center of National Arts.”

Born in 1977 in Mindon village, Ferghana region, Eshmatov graduated from Benkov Art School. His first solo show took place in 1999. Several pieces by the artist have gone to private collections in Russia, Turkey, USA, Switzerland, Japan and India.
