WHO highly rates contributions by NGOs to healthcare development in Uzbekistan

Zsuzsanna Jakab, the director of WHO Regional Office for Europe, highly rated the activities of the Fund Forum and Mehr nuri (Ray of mercy) Public Foundation at a recent international symposium titled “National model of maternal and child health care in Uzbekistan: “Healthy mother – healthy child” in Tashkent.

“I want to note the efforts of the Fund Forum and Mehr nuri Foundation, their contributions to the development of healthcare in Uzbekistan and their successful collaboration with governmental agencies, the Ministry of Health and international organizations. We can see today that their efforts have produced notable success,” Jakab said in an interview after the inauguration of the Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Phthisiology and Pulmonology held as part of the international symposium.

Also, the symposium participants could evaluate the results of activities overseen by Uzbek public organizations during a visit to Children’s Clinical Hospital No5 and the Clinical Hospital of Infectious Disease, recently reconstructed by Mehr nuri Foundation.

The activities of Uzbek NGOs such as the Fund Forum, Mehr nuri Public Foundation, the Women’s Council, “In the Name of Life” National Breast Cancer Association and the SISF were also presented during the symposium and exemplified successful and fruitful efforts by public and nongovernmental organizations in conjunction with governmental and international bodies.
