On December 7 the Uzbek Embassy in Spain hosted a briefing in commemoration of the 19th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s Constitution. The reception was attended by 37 representatives of the poticial and business community as well as associations, public organizations and journalists.
The event included a ceremony to award diplomas and commemorative presents from the Organizing Committee of Style.Uz Art Week 2011 to famous Spanish gallerists Jorge Ontiveros and Fernando Diez who had showcased a collection of artworks by eminent 20th-century Spanish painter Joan Miro in Tashkent as part of Style.Uz Art Week.
The event also honored representatives of the Spanish fashion label Angel Schlesser and other Spanish guests who had participated in a series of events held in Tashkent: Style.Uz Art Week, the 1st Tashkent International Cinema Forum Golden Guepard, the 2nd International Theater Festival and the 4th Tashkent International Biennale of Contemporary Art.
In his reciprocal speech, Jorge Ontiveros expressed his gratitude to the Fund Forum for being invited to the major cultural events in Uzbekistan. He said he was deeply impressed by the trip, adding that his Uzbek experience had surpassed his expectations and said he was convinced that cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries would be further strengthened.
