The Fund Forum and Uspensky Music School have organized an experimental joint concert featuring “Shodiyona” national instrument orchestra and “Tantana” children’s singing group. Timed to coincide with the International Child Protection Day, the concert drew around 200 people. The Fund Forum provided “Shodiyona” orchestra with gift music instruments and honored its members with commemorative presents.
The concert combined instrumental music with a live performance of children’s songs. The concert music included classical masterpieces along with oriental songs and other pieces performed by Shodiyona. The orchestra composed of Uspensky Music School students takes an active part of cultural activities by playing for large audiences during events. The June 1 concert also included compositions written for the orchestra by prominent Uzbek violinist Abduhoshim Ismoilov.
Shodiyona Orchestra shared the stage with Tantana singing group of “Eski shakhar” Children’s Art Center. Children aged 3 to 12 performed seven numbers, including the song “Shariki” (Balloons) with lyrics and music by their teachers Fotima Jurabayeva and Zukhra Ziyomukhamedova. Tantana emerged as winner of the Fund Forum’s “Yangi avlod” Children’s Art Festival while their master Fotima Jurabayeva is one of the three beneficiaries of the grant made available for the heads of music groups.
The concert by Shodiyona and Tantana is another in the series of children’s projects dedicated to the International Child Protection Day. The children are set to take a tour of Samarkand city, organized by Mehr Nuri Foundation. They will also participate in a drawing concert on June 2, International Children’s Calisthenics Tournament on June 4, and “In the Name of Childhood” Charitable Ball at the Japanese Garden on July 6.
“Tantana group is composed of three teams with members aged between 3 and 12. Last year we became the winners of Yangi avlod Festival. Today’s concert is a very important event both for our kids and the teachers, for me and Zukhra Ziyomukhamedova as this is the first time the group has performed live with an orchestra. This is a big lesson for the kids as they learn to perform live, and it’s a big honor to play for children on this important day.”
