Nilda Fernandez gave a press conference

French singer Nilda Fernandez who arrived in Tashkent gave a press conference today in Alisher Navoi Theater. His concert, scheduled for June 21, has been organized by the Fund Forum and Victor Hugo French Cultural Centre.

Local journalists had the opportunity to learn more of the singer`s creative endeavors and ask him questions. The singer gave a brief account of his trip to Russia and the reasons why he spent some time living in Moscow. It all started with the famous duet “Day and Night” with Boris Russian pop singer Boris Moiseyev. “Day and Night is a wonderful duet because he and I are really like day and night. We are completely different people, nonetheless the songs were a big success. So I ended up staying in Moscow for 5 years, going on tours with him, and sometimes without him”, the singer said.

It was in Russia that he heard the most about Uzbekistan from his colleagues and was looking forward to going to Tashkent. He went on to note that in Moscow Uzbek culture is very well represented and draws great interest from people. “I am glad that I had a chance to sample Uzbek pilaf, which I had tried everywhere, but not in Uzbekistan”, Fernandez said.

Asked what he thought of Uzbek musicians, he noted their inner energy and will which help them to improvise. Those gathered also talked about the singer`s upcoming concert with an Uzbek orchestra due to be held on June 21 at Alisher Navoi Theater.
