Muminov’s landscapes showcased at National Center of Arts

Tashkent’s Center of National Arts welcomes the public to the solo exhibition of works by the contemporary painter Abduvali Muminov that focus on the motif of landscapes. Titled “Under the Blue Sky”, the art show marks the artist’s 70th anniversary and presents over 50 paintings. Organized by the Fund Forum and IJOD Association of Artists, Art Historians and Craftsmen, the exhibition will run through June 6.

The opening ceremony for the art show on May 6 brought together the painter’s colleagues, friends, family members, fans along with representatives of the diplomatic corps, students and teachers from art schools and journalists, with many expressing their thoughts on his creative endeavor and wishing him good health and further success.

We’re celebrating 2 years since the establishment of IJOD Association, and it’s amazing that this day coincides with the anniversary of Abduvali Muminov, who is a great artist and a member of our Association. Abduvali is a very respectable man and is one of the most prominent landscape artists in Uzbekistan. His works can touch anyone’s heart. And I want to say a big thank you to the Fund Forum for supporting artists and organizing such warm exhibitions.”

Muminov was born in 1941 in Tashkent. His desire to become a painter brought him to an art studio where he learned the basics of panting. He then enrolled in Benkov Art School (1960-1965) and later Nizami Pedagogical Institute. He has participated in national exhibitions since he graduated from the Institute.

Muminov has shown his art throughout Uzbekistan, in Turkey and South Korea. His creations can be found in museums in Uzbekistan, Turkey, the UK and South Korea, with many of his artworks having gone to private collections across the world.

His passion for painting landscapes grew as his traveled in Uzbek cities such as Bakhmal, Shokhimardon, Suchok, Brichmulla and Zomin. Muminov has created a multitude of artworks dedicated to places where he traveled. The natural images and iridescent colors and tones are certain to make an impression on the viewer. Muminov’s paintings reflect scenic landscapes that Uzbekistan is rich in, from Surkhandarya to Brichmulla. The works of the kind have been created by other artists as well, but Muminov’s style boasts original and particular characteristics.

“I’m so happy that my paintings are being showcased in such a wonderful venue as the Center of National Arts. So many people have come to share this day with me and extend congratulations. And this means I haven’t been working in vain. This is the biggest birthday present. Uzbekistan is a storehouse of landscape ideas for any artist. For me Uzbekistan is a source of inspiration, life and love. It offers a boundless expanse for creativity and glorifying the beauty of your country is a big honor and a pleasure.”

By creating a harmony of colors on a canvas and ensuring expressiveness of tones, the painter conveys a particular mood and feeling. His inclination for contemplation is driven by his desire to fathom the depth of nature. His artworks on display offer a symphony of light and color while accentuating the master’s individuality.

The artist believes that the success of creative endeavor hinges on hard work and constant search. Muminov spent many years teaching art at Nizami Pedagogical Institute in Tashkent (25 years) and Benkov Art School (10 years).
