The “Kelajak ovozi” (Voice of the future) Summer Training Camp is alive with exciting activities and workshops where 500 boys and girls from all over the country are gaining new skills and knowledge. The training camp, put together by the Fund Forum and “Kelajak ovozi” Youth Initiatives Center, is held annually in the town of Shakhrisabz in Kashkadarya region and offers interesting events and professional courses in various areas. The most successful participants are awarded diplomas and certificates upon completion of the training programme.
Starting this year, the summer camp welcomes not only Kelajak ovozi YIC members but also talented young people aged 18-25 from across the Republic. Over 1,000 boys and girls submitted applications this year, with 500 having been selected to participate in the camp. This year`s summer camp is held July 7-21.
The Summer Training Camp offers a program of workshops such as “Young Entrepreneurs and Business Trainers”, “Online Journalists” and “TV Journalism”, “Young Entrepreneurs Club” and “Young Programmers”, which compete with other. In the practical part of the camp, the teams give presentations, hold tenders, press conferences, discussions and business forums.
Throughout the training period Kelajak ovozi Press Center publishes a daily paper covering life at the camp while young journalists from youth TV studios from across the country cover events in youth news programs. Thus far, the participants have gained valuable skills in webpage creating, discussed political culture, learned about acting and the history of theater and a lot more. In addition, each workshop includes energizing exercise and various business games.
Moreover, the participants can participate in intellectual games, sporting competitions, national dress shows, contests, presentations, skits and meetings with celebrities.
“Kelajak ovozi” Summer Camp has been organized annually since 2007. It is seen as an excellent opportunity to gain skills and knowledge by participating in thematic training sessions and cultural and sporting events. Every year the organizers try to add zing to the project by introducing something new. Last year, for instance, Megapolis game was added to the agenda in an effort to raise participants` awareness of the world`s developed cities.
The Summer Training Camp is supported by local organizations as well as international organizations such as the British Council, the UN Development Program, UNFPA, Konrad Adenauer Foundation, OSCE, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (German Company for International Cooperation), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), UN Volunteers and Nagoya University among others.
