Grigory Leps to perform during the M&TVA–2009

Prominent Russian singer Grigoriy Leps will perform during the M&TVA–2009 award ceremony in Tashkent on December 22 at the State Academic Grand Theatre named after Alisher Navoi.

This is the forth ceremony annually held by the Forum of Culture and Arts of Uzbekistan Foundation, Authors and Performers Guild and TVM television channel. According to the tradition national prize M&TVA – (uzbek) Musiqa, tele- video- asarlari nominatciyasi taqdimoti – Music, TV and video arts nomination – is awarded to the most outstanding representatives of music, television, radio, cultural and show industry, who made special contribution to the development of culture and arts in Uzbekistan during 2009.

M&TVA award ceremony is one of the most awaited cultural events of the year. Bright show includes creative summary of the year, winners awarding, performances by Uzbek pop-stars as well as young artists – laureates of children`s and youth projects of the Fund Forum and other creative people. As for many projects of the Foundation significant part of the invitations to the ceremony will be distributed free of charge among culture and art figures, talented youth – participants of the Fund Forum`s projects, volunteers, experts and art critics, mass media representatives.

Special guest of this year`s ceremony Grigory Leps will present his new musical program. Leps is famous for his special timbre, charisma and extraordinary vocal. Media characterizes him as a “symbol of manliness on Russian stage”. He sings in a popular style with rock elements and is very careful in selecting lyrics for his songs.
