The presentation of the book “Fund Forum presents Uzbekistan” was held in Madrid as part of FITUR International Tourism Fair that took place on January 18-22. Moreover, Kelajak Tour international bureau for youth tourism and cooperation has participated in the Madrid fair for a second time with support from the Fund Forum.
In what has become a tradition, the Kelajak Tour stand presented information about the Fund Forum’s far-reaching projects such as Asrlar sadosi (Echo of centuries) Festival of Traditional Culture and Style.Uz Art Week, which drew a large number of visitors while the section allocated for the book “Fund Forum presents Uzbekistan”, with its colorful photos and texts in English, French and Russian, attracted those interested in Oriental philosophy, the art of Central Asian craftsmen and medieval architectural marvels. Many visitors opined that the book may serve as a useful guide to Uzbekistan’s ancient cities.
This year’s FITUR International Tourism Fair was inaugurated on January 18 by the Prince and Princess of Asturias, Felipe de Borbón and Letizia Ortiz, with the Minister of Industry, Energy and Tourism José Manuel Soria López in attendance along with heads of national travel administrations of FITUR participant countries. Over 10,000 exhibiting companies from 166 countries and over 200,000 visitors between tourism professionals and the general public met during the fair to transform leisure into business and business into development for those destinations that welcome millions of travelers. Moreover, among the attendees were more than 7,000 journalists from 59 countries, a turnout that demonstrates the importance of FITUR on the international circuit of tourism sector fairs.
