As the results of nationwide university exams held on August 2 have been declared, many would-be students find themselves unable to afford the tuition fee. For those who cannot afford the cost of learning at a higher educational institution, the Fund Forum and Mehr nuri Foundation announce the start of the annual Educational Grants Program for 2011. Applications are accepted by “Mehr nuri” Foundation from August 20 to September 5, 2011.
The Program is an opportunity for newly enrolled students to have their tuition cost for their first year of study paid for. Winners who complete the first year of study with outstanding results have the opportunity to have their second year of study covered.
This is a merit-based program and is open to Bachelor`s students who have enrolled in higher educational institutions as first-year students on a contract basis, i.e. those who have failed to get a sufficient score to entitle them to free higher education.
The contest consists of two rounds: application processing and interview with the jury for the Program. The winners will be honored at an Awards Ceremony to be held in November this year at the Youth Creativity Palace as part of a Youth Forum.
Over 7,500 people have participated in the program since its inception, with nearly 500 emerging as winners. Nearly 250 of these winners have had the tuition for their second year of study covered as well. A total of UZS 720 mln worth of grants have been awarded thus far.
