Culture festival in China

The People`s University of China in Beijing hosted the 10th International Culture Festival during which students from Uzbekistan demonstrated the culture of our country through performances.

The Festival included a variety of cultural events and a fair of participating countries, which included a pavilion representing Uzbekistan designed in national style. It present colorful national costumes, souvenirs, applied art items (suzani, wooden boxes, ceramics) and publications focusing on Uzbekistan`s achievements during independence years as well as the Fund Forum`s activities and the youth projects it runs during the “Year of Harmoniously Developed Generation” in Uzbekistan. The highlight of the Uzbek pavilion was pilaf, Uzbekistan`s main national dish.

The closing ceremony of the Festival included a concert which featured students and schoolchildren from Uzbekistan performing national dances and songs.

No doubt, the Uzbek cultural presentation has come as an important step in the development of cultural cooperation and establishment of new ties between the two countries as well as in efforts to draw visitors to Uzbekistan.
