Uspensky Music School on January 14 played host to a concert dedicated to the Defender of the Motherland Day and the 20th anniversary of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan. The performers at the concert included laureates of Yangi avlod (New generation) Children’s Art Festival.
The invitees to the concert included mothers of soldiers serving in the Uzbek army and veterans of the Armed Forces among others. Organized by the Fund Forum and Uspensky Music School, the concert concluded performances by a group of doira players as well as songs and poems about motherland, soldiers’ duties and peace.
- “I have utmost respect for the defenders of our country, thanks to whose service we feel protected. When the right time comes I will also join the army as it is the duty of every man, every citizen of Uzbekistan. I think this concert is a great idea because this day is very important to us, and I’m glad that participated in this concert, where I performed a piece by Chopin.”
The greeting speeches delivered by several Uzbek military officials for the audience and performers were followed by a ceremony to present flowers and presents to war veterans, soldiers’ mothers and distinguished servicemen.
Dilfuza Yusupova, one of the mothers of soldiers invited to the concert:
- “This has been an excellent concert, which made lasting impressions on us. I’m thankful to the concert organizers for providing so much support for the mothers of soldiers. I wish my son and all those honorable service to their motherland as well as peace and health to their loved ones.”
The concert, like the many other events organized by the Fund Forum, contributes to the spiritual development of the youth and the fostering of patriotism in young people, love for their motherland and respect for its defenders.
