Beijing, the capital city of China, hosted a children’s art exhibition titled “My Colorful Childhood” organized by Vanhualu School, the China Association of Children’s Art and the Fund Forum with assistance from the Embassy of Uzbekistan in China. Held at 798 Art Zone, a part of Beijing’s Chaoyang District that houses a thriving artistic community, the showroom featured over 100 works by the trainees of “Yangi avlod forumi” and “Eski shaxar” Children’s Art Centers as well as creations by youngsters from various art centers in Beijing.
The opening ceremony for the exhibition was attended by Chinese culture and art professionals as well as representatives of the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the business community and the media.
In her welcome speech Hu Chen, the director of the school, noted that the colorful pictures on display drawn by children contributes to stronger friendly ties between Chinese and Uzbek children. She said the event serves as another opportunity for children to get to know more about the two countries’ cultures, traditions and customs. “This cultural dialog is another step in the development of cultural exchange between our two countries,” she noted.
Representatives of the Uzbek Embassy awarded a gold medal and prizes to Shichen Duanu, a student at Vanhualu School who emerged as the winner of the event, on behalf of the Organizing Committee of the International Biennale of Children’s Art “Tashkent Joy”.
The exhibition which featured colorful and original drawings by young Uzbek and Chinese artists drew a large number of visitors.
